L’Oréal Star Magnet Vernis Magnétique/ Magnetic Nail Colour

Guess what startled me when I popped into Watsons yesterday?

Ingenious.

An instant reminder of Lancôme Le Magnetique, last year’s limited edition nail art-cum-lacquer, this offering from L’oréal seems to be a veritable dupe of it. Considering that Lancôme is under the L’Oréal umbrella, I am inclined to believe that this would work as well as the original.

Priced at S$12.90 each, there are currently four colours offered at Watsons:

  • Magnetic Copper
    Magnetic Grey
    Magnetic Purple
    Magnetic Silver

I bought Magnetic Silver, which is a shimmery slate with a slight purple cast…and beautiful metallic blue shimmer. Check out this blog post from Polishaholic for photos of this polish and the star effect. According to another blog, the range has three other colours not (yet?) sold here. I’d love to see Chocolate in person!

I saw this at Watsons yesterday! I picked it up, looked at it for a couple of seconds before placing it back onto the stand and walking away!

I need to return to another Watsons now!

Post pics of you wearing it please!

    Hi Birkinbagbeauty!

You have to see it in person. I like how the blue shimmer twinkles! :)

    Hi Feeyona and Jojoba,

You’re welcome! I’d love to hear what you both think of this.

I bought this and tried it, but I think I need some more practice… you need to dispense just the right amount of polish onto your nail evenly for the effect to show up and I only got it right half the time. In the end, I gave up and painted over them.

    Hey Mel,

I’m sorry to hear that. Which colour did you buy? I haven’t used/opened mine but I think I wouldn’t mind just painting regularly with it – it’s such a pretty shade of grey! Let me know if you figure out how to make it work; I’d love any tips!

where is Watsons? Are they online or only an actual store? Thnks

  • makeupmag says:

    Hi MissG,

Watsons is a drugstore with brick-and-mortar outlets across Asia. :)

Here’s the link to the SG webby: http://www.watsons.com.sg

You can’t purchase anything from there unfortunately. You could email them directly to ask though!

  • asdasd says:

Do you know if this is in the Watsons in the Asian countries as well ?

  • makeupmag says:

    Hi asdasd,

I’m sorry – I have no idea. You could try emailing the Watsons stores in the Southeast Asian region.
