Lush Red Dragon Soap

To celebrate this auspicious year of the Dragon, Lush has created Red Dragon Soap. An apt product, certainly, seeing that 2012 is the year of the water dragon. (Soap+water, get it?)

To complement the Lunar New Year festival, the brand has made this decorative soap in the Karma scent, a fragrance with oriental and spicy notes (patchouli, lemongrass, orange oil and pine). Each piece is also dusted with gold powder, gold being a colour of prosperity.

In Singapore, this special edition soap retails at S$20.80 (100 g/3.5 oz). Quite pricey, if you ask me – they are only US$7.95 in the US.

Though I like Lush Karma soap, I’m not inclined to these dragon soap cakes. The gold dust flies everywhere and the shape isn’t very dragon-like…the bulbous bars on the plate look very much like pieces of fatty meat to me. :P

It’s a neat idea by Lush but poorly executed, unfortunately. I would’ve certainly bought them if they’d looked more 像样 (presentable/decent)!
