Lee Min Ho for Etude House

According to Dramabeans, the new face for Etude House is Lee Min Ho, lead actor in Korea’s current hit drama series, Boys Before Flowers. Also known as Boys Over Flowers, this Korean television adaptation of Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango is seeing high viewership ratings, in part due to the good-looking cast.

While I cannot picture him selling eyeshadows and highlighters (makeup of any kind, really), I am guessing he will be promoting skincare and men’s products (something for the boyfriends/husbands/lovers?) to his masses of female fans. His mere endorsement of the brand is probably enough to send droves of them to Etude House stores…more so, I imagine, when he is there for publicity campaigns. ;)

Look past his sculpted face and chiselled features to uncover some strong acting. I am impressed by his complex portrayal of Gu Jun Pyo, the poor-little-rich-chaebol who is at once powerful and vulnerable, debilitated and strengthened in turn by his love for a common girl.

Lee Min Ho’s textured performance reminds me of Lee Dong Wook (yes, he of My Girl fame); he even looks like him!

Omg! I was quite excited to read that LMH would be in their ads. The ending of this drama is becoming increasingly like My Girl. There’s a song in Boys Over Flowers that sounded like a track from My Girl as well.

    Hi Abc123zyx,

Don’t you think he looks like Kim Bum (Yi Jung), in the first photo?

I haven’t caught up with the last few episodes yet but so far, I’m enjoying the story, despite Gu Hye Sun’s alternately annoyed and apologetic expressions, as someone mentioned in Dramabeans.

I think she performs best in serious scenes and is called to show genuine fear and worry, instead of acting OTT.

Both shows have the same PD. Which song are you referring to? I was amused when Never Say Goodbye came on in one of the earlier eps. ;)

The love theme sounds very similar to that of Witch Amusement (yep, same PD); it’s even sung by the same singer (Ashily, I think).

Wow. I never noticed Never Say Goodbye. What episode was it in. The song I was talking about is this one:

That sounds like a new song from Season 2; I haven’t come across it yet. It doesn’t remind me of any song in My Girl but the singer could very well have sung one of the songs in My Girl, heh! Many K-drama songs contain shades of one another, no? ;)

Never Say Goodbye was in Episode 1, I believe!

Oh, Never Say Goodbye was playing when the F4 members were in their recreation room (leisure lounge?). If I recall correctly, Jun Pyo was throwing darts at that time.

    Hey abc123xyz,

I’m catching BBF now and the song that plays in the leisure lounge scene of episode 1 is The Destiny’s Amusement from Witch Yoo Hee. :)
