Shiseido Aqualabel in Singapore

Aqualabel, the much-lauded drugstore skincare range from Shiseido will be making its way here in June. Exclusively available at selected Watsons stores, the Aqualabel Promise is ‘to infuse skin with sufficient amounts of moisture’.

I like the catchy Aqualabel philosophy: Sink x Saturate x Seal. As the words suggest, Aqualabel products promise to sink into the skin, saturate skin cells with moisture and seal off that moisture. Clever use of alliteration!

Like Hada Labo, Aqualabel uses cute graphics to draw us in. ;) Here, the little bubbles demonstrate an Aqualabel-exclusive ingredient  – the brand calls it ‘aqua synergy’ – that blends easily with water and oil in skin. It sounds like a surfactant to me, with its hydrophilic (water-attracting) and lipophilic (oil/lipid-attracting) properties. Thank to aqua synergy, moisture and active ingredients can penetrate deeper into the skin, softening it at the same time.

Available to us will be:

Aqualabel White, a whitening range. Like the higher-end Shiseido White Lucent, this line contains  m-Tranexamic Acid, a key ingredient for targeting the root of pigmentation problems by inhibiting melanin production. The star product is apparently Bright White Ex Essence which has been recommended by popular Taiwanese beauty television series, 女人我最大 (Nu Ren Wo Zui Da).

I’m quite excited about the foundation – I’ve heard good things about its moisturising properties and ease of use.

Aqualabel Moist, a moisturising range. I like that one of its key ingredients promotes the production of NMF, the skin’s natural moisturising factor.

Aqualabel White AC, an anti-acne whitening range which apparently not only prevents inflammation and the development of acne, it also minimises melanin accumulation (thus preventing scarring/excess pigmentation).

Happily, the prices are reasonable – they range from S$15+ to S$30+. To find out more about the brand, visit the Tampines Mall atrium from 21 to 27 June 2010 for Aqualabel’s soft launch! ;)

Yes, Shiseido does have a very good name in skincare and makeup. :) The star product is the Bright White Ex Essence, as I’ve mentioned in my post. ;)

Hi, may i know which Watson’s stores in Singapore carry the Aqua Label? I just bought the trial sizes of four of Aqua Label White from Japan and they are really good. Value for money :)

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Macy,

It’s currently available at Tampines Mall and Ngee Ann City, I believe. It doesn’t officially launch till 9 July though, when it’d be available at most Watsons stores.

  • Nicole says:

I’ve tried the whitening range for the Aqualabel range and much to my dismay, it was REALLY greasy on the skin!! :( even though i applied a little. wouldn’t recommend it to those with combination/oily skin.

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Nicole,

I’m sorry to hear that. :( I have combination/sometimes-oily skin but the sunscreen and facial wash in the blue packaging work well on me.

  • Graclyn says:

Is Watsons the only place selling this line of products?

    I can’t find any Enhancers :(

  • Eicon says:

Hope you will sell here in Philippines too.. I really love this product

  • Eicon says:

My acne gone when I was using this in Singapore but I went back now here in Philippines I couldn’t continue what using coz suddenly watsons Philippines don’t sell this

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Eicon,

Good to hear it helped with your acne. I’m not sure where you could buy this online, unfortunately.
