The highly-anticipated MAC Venomous Villains collection launched in Singapore at Tangs Orchard yesterday, surprisingly close to the US/Canada launch date.
According to my MA, there was a long queue outside the store before it opened at 10.30 am. Once the doors opened, the early birds made a beeline for MAC, thrusting their makeup lists on the hapless MAs. Some of the flustered faces I saw when I reached the store at 11+ am were testimony to the craziness – these customers apparently ran to the counters, attacking Venomous Villains with a vengeance. Their reward? A heinous haul, of course! ;)
To add to the fiendish flavour of this alliterative collection, MAC Singapore has set up a Cruella de Vil backdrop, complete with cut-outs of her and the cute Dalmatian puppies (I like the one with the furrowed brow; it’s sooo adorable!). Her white fur coat and monochromed gloves, wig and glasses are also provided for customers to play dress-up with.
Here’s the MAC retail manager camping it up as Cruella de Vil. Her impassive countenance made her staff double up with laughter. :D
From now till 10 October, spend S$80 (including an item from the VV collection) and receive a Deliciously Devious Makeover and a VV photo op. Dress up as either Cruella de Vil (Tangs Orchard, 1 – 3 October 2010) or the Evil Queen (Tangs Vivocity, 8 – 10 October 2010) and have your photo taken for some fiendish fun! :)
In addition, Tangs card members who spend S$50 or more (including an item from the collection) will stand to win MAC hampers.

No prizes for guessing which Disney icon I was trying to echo. ;)
As of yesterday night, the two mineralize shadow duos, the three nail varnishes, Lipglass in Revenge is Sweet, Powder Blush In Bite of an Apple and Beauty Powder in Oh So Fair are sold out. Not surprising, considering the crowd that descended upon the counter in the morning. :P
Fret not over the frenzy though – Venomous Villains will be available at the other MAC locations in Singapore (Isetan Scotts, Isetan Tampines Mall, Robinsons Raffles City, Tangs Vivocity, MAC at Sephora Ion and the free-standing MAC Pro store at Ngee Ann City) from 7 October 2010!

I read elsewhere that the collection would be launched on 8 Oct? So i was just wondering if its the 7th or 8th?

It’s plausible that it’d launch on the 8th, since the Evil Queen photo op will only be available then at Tangs VivoCity. However, I was told by the MAC office that the collection will be available from the 7th. Perhaps you could call the counters to check?
I hope to get my hands on all the nail lacquers, they look too gorgeous to pass on!!!

i’ve asked the counter at Robinson cityhall and the MA told me on the 8th. but that was 2 weeks ago so i’m not sure now. i guess if i really want the nailpolish the the blush i will have to do a “MAC stalker” and go on both days?!
