When Iris was in New Delhi a few weeks back, she very kindly brought home a gift for me: Lakmé Eye Color Quartet in Tanjore Rush.
Part of the Gypsy collection, Lakme’s offering for fall 2010, this palette (425 rupees) is striking in its colour combination and texture.
Although Lakmé is owned by Unilever (Hindustan), several of their palettes are made in Taiwan.
All the eyeshadows are richly-pigmented and have a beautiful metallic sheen. The swatches say it all. ;)
Besides gifting me with the palette, Iris also helped me to custom purchase Lakmé Black Satin Kajal (150 rupees), a wonderfully soft jet-black eyeliner. I’m astounded by its incredibly affordable price!
She also picked up some Lakmé Glide On Eye Color eyeliners (275 rupees) for me. Like many waterproof pencils, these are made in Germany; more specifically, they are manufactured by Schwan Stabilo. They certainly look like they will make awesome shadow bases.
For more information on Lakmé, do read Iris’s post on the brand. Kas has also written some interesting facts on the origins of some of these products.
I’ve always wanted to try out Lakme, these are too shimmery yet they do absolutely pigmented. I guess I gotta search for an online shop selling those beauties!
Hi Anna,
Good luck! I hope you find it. :)
The swatches of the quad are terrific! Shall look for dupes in my stash (which shouldn’t be that difficult!) Hope the kajal and eyeliner pencils turn out well for you!
Hi Iris,
Thanks to you, I now have this amazing quad. The quality is stellar! I have a feeling you can dupe the quad with your Sleek colours. ;)
I haven’t tried the pencils but the kajal is sooo rich – lovely. :)
I really like the quads and the eyepencils – awesome quality and colours for a wonderful price! I rimmed my eyes with the kajal and I find its a little smudgy but i guess that’s part of the “look” – I still like it :P
Hi Kas,
They swatch so well! :D
Hello Iris
My uncle recently bought the lakme eyeliner for 650 rupees. I think he was cheated. How much does it cost usually?
Hi GoldenFlower,
You’ll have to ask Iris of Rouge Deluxe (http://www. rougedeluxe.blogspot.com). :)
know about kalaj and eyeliner
Hi Pushkala,
I’m not sure what you mean…?
