A Gift! – Lakmé Eye Color Quartet in Tanjore Rush

When Iris was in New Delhi a few weeks back, she very kindly brought home a gift for me: Lakmé Eye Color Quartet in Tanjore Rush.

Part of the Gypsy collection, Lakme’s offering for fall 2010, this palette (425 rupees) is striking in its colour combination and texture.

Although Lakmé is owned by Unilever (Hindustan), several of their palettes are made in Taiwan.

All the eyeshadows are richly-pigmented and have a beautiful metallic sheen. The swatches say it all. ;)

Besides gifting me with the palette, Iris also helped me to custom purchase Lakmé Black Satin Kajal (150 rupees), a wonderfully soft jet-black eyeliner. I’m astounded by its incredibly affordable price!

She also picked up some Lakmé Glide On Eye Color eyeliners (275 rupees) for me. Like many waterproof pencils, these are made in Germany; more specifically, they are manufactured by Schwan Stabilo. They certainly look like they will make awesome shadow bases.

For more information on Lakmé, do read Iris’s post on the brand. Kas has also written some interesting facts on the origins of some of these products.
