Metro Ladies’ Night

Shortly after the SK-II Christmas tree light-up event, I headed over to Metro Paragon for Metro Ladies’ Night, all ready to use my Metro Privilege/Gift Card! ;)

There were many boys and men waiting outside, thanks to the ‘no males allowed’ rule.

The crowd during Metro Ladies’ Night was testimony to the allure of the deals and steals offered on that day – 20% off storewide…and more. :D

Among the highlights of the evening were a Lancôme facial massage demonstration focusing on the Lancôme Rénergie Lift Volumetry range (gifts were given out to the crowd post-demo!), as well as a Tweezerman eyebrow shaping demonstration (Kas was the model) where the brow artist dispensed useful tips.

And here’s Sara, with Kas and me! Iris was also there but I didn’t get a photo with her on my cam. The store was packed and we had to brave the crowd to do our shopping. We eventually split up but sweet Sara was able to accompany me when I was shopping for new tops. :)

Of course, beauty was the main focus (the women at the event evidently thought so too – the beauty department was thronging with people!). In addition to a few pieces of apparel for my hubs and myself, I purchased:

  • Chanel Glossimer in 132 Mirage
  • Ettusais Bitaba Volume Mascara
  • Kosé Esprique Precious Dress On Glossy Rouge in RD 482
  • Shu Uemura Pressed Eye Shadow in ME 650 Metallic Denim Blue
  • Tweezerman ProCurl Eyelash Curler

The crowd was still going strong near 11 pm, when the store was about to close. I paid for my purchases at the Men’s Wear department, which also had a queue, albeit a short one. Sara and I then went for a very late but much-welcomed dinner at the Mandarin Orchard Singapore, where we indulged in Chatterbox’s famous chicken rice (hers) and fried beef hor fun (mine). Pricey but worth every cent, considering the tastiness and generous portions, not to mention our aching bodies, post-shopping! It was great to be able to fling everything (and ourselves) on the comfy seats. :D

Metro will be having a one-day 20% storewide discount today too – a good time to grab beauty lemmings and do some early Christmas shopping! ;)

      Hi Marcia,

It was actually quite a stressful experience because we had to beat the clock and we were starving! I did leave with many pretty things, so that was nice! :D

they should have let the men in…but to line up at the cashiers for us lol.
can you pls review the tweezerman eyelash curler? I always find it hard to grip the inside lashes, most of the brands i try don’t seem to fit my eye shape (or maybe its my lack of skill haha)

      Hi Karen!

Haha, yes, and to carry our bags. ;)

I’ll let you know how the curler works once I’ve used it. Have you tried the Maquillage Free Edge Curler? Or a mini curler (Shu makes one)? The latter is good for gripping the edges but troublesome in the sense that you’ll have to crimp several times. My fave curler is actually the one that MAC makes. ;)

    Hi Mag

I saw you when I was at the Lancome counters and you were at the Kose one! >_< But I didn't say 'Hi' cos that would be quite weird for you and I :S

Anyways, I love your makeup that day! I'm still trying to hide my Ladies Night Haul under a rock cos' they make me feel uber guilty! :P

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Jolyn,

Aww, you should’ve said hi – not weird at all. I’m always happy to meet makeup friends! Next time, ok? :)

Thank you for the compliment – I was wearing MAC Club, intensified (love that shadow!). I’d love to see your MLN haul! ;)

    Hello back!

    >_< cos' you looked so concentrated on choosing your makeup items and I heard you talking to Sara as well so I thought you might not want to be disturbed haha, actually determined = fierce so I was just that bit of scared. :S

I love how your cheeks looks so tight, to accurately describe it, it's like a Botox effect. I'm not saying that you did, just that your makeup is so amazing to give your face that much definition. Please don't be offended by that remark, I've been trying to give my face that too, just that I'm a makeup baby and I'm trying to get a flawless base still haha.

I just hauled the Lancome skincare range (!!!!!!!!!!! *dies) and HG from Shu Umuera hehe.

      Hello Jolyn!

I think we were discussing what to purchase and having a little difficulty, haha! Say hi next time, ok? I’m always happy to meet new beauty friends. :)

Thanks for the compliment – the glow comes mostly from the Tony Moly Shimmer Lover Cubes. ;)

Your haul sounds like it would make L’Oréal very happy. :D
