Makeup Memories | Lancôme Color Focus Palette 4 Ombres Exceptional Wear Smooth Eye Colour Quad in 100 OZ!

While packing my makeup stash, I came across Lancôme Color Focus Palette 4 Ombres in 100 OZ!, an unusually colourful eyeshadow quad from Lancôme.

Part of the Lancôme Spring 2002 Oz collection which promised to put beauty lovers over the makeup rainbow, 100 OZ! captured my attention with its combination of cheerful hues.

Made in France, this quad cost S$71. Not cheap, certainly (and this was the price almost ten years ago) but it remains a collectible item of beauty joy for me! ♥

Wow the colors are so vibrant! Just right for the coming summer! Too bad it was from such a long time ago. But I agree! Its a very unique Lancome quad.

do you still use such old products even if they look ok?

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Stella,

I probably will, if they smell all right and apply fine. Only for powders, though; not creams/liquids. The latter I’ll trash!

Omg! It looks so nice and in pristine condition! It looks like a current release product and is more eye-catching than some other palettes sold today! Are you going to use it? ;-)

Hey Mag! I’m back after a hiatus – I’ve been travelling for the better part of the last 3 months and phew it’s good to be back…
I remember my older cousin having and loving this palette (she was a true wild child of the eighties and the sky blue + coral were right up her alley) – I was younger and so much more intimidated by all the bold colours – they really do look vivid after all these years (omg 2002 is almost a decade ago?!!). Thanks for the memories and kudos to you for maintaining them in such pristine condition :)

Hello TUG and welcome home! :)

I left the palette in the box and only took it out once in a while to admire it, haha! Believe it or not, the sponge-tip applicators are still firm and usable. Am surprised they haven’t bio-degraded like some applicators I’ve seen.

    Mag,
How long can we keep a used eye shadow?
is it true we can keep 2-3 years? or more?

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Josephine,

2-3 years is fine, unless it’s from a natural/organic brand that uses little to no preservatives. Powders keep well and if they don’t turn (in terms of smell and colour), they are generally ok to use. I’m very careful with my products and like to wipe them down, to ensure that they last longer.
