My dear friend Iris often brings back beauty goodies for me from her overseas trips but when she gave me a few baby products after a sojourn in France, I was especially touched. Among the items I received from her was Bioderma ABCDerm H2O Micelle Solution, a cleanser for babies.
Similar to Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution, this is a transparent water-based cleanser. However, it has a more emollient feel than the adult version and smells like jasmine green tea (I can’t detect any fragrance in the latter). I’ve since finished the bottle but the scent lingers in my memory.
According to the brand, it is an ‘ultra-mild non-rinse, soap-free, non-foaming cleanser’. With its gentle formulation, I mainly saturated soft cotton balls with the liquid to clean my baby’s nappy area as it is suitable for the sensitive skin there. I found its emollience/moisturising texture particularly helpful when I needed to clean off poo stains. I also liked to pair it with Vichy Thermal Spa Water sometimes, to thoroughly cleanse the area. I particularly welcomed it during a bad bout of diaper rash – I’m not sure if it was the soothing scent that gave me the perception but it seemed to calm the skin then.
Thanks, Iris, for my little foray into Bioderma baby products and for thinking of the little one and me. 你真的有我们的心! :)
Glad you liked it! I love the cute little bottle, very convenient for travels :-)
Hey Iris,
The bottle is very cute! My hubs was actually looking for it one day but had to tell him I’d finished it, haha!
The bottle looks adorable and I like the idea of a Micelle (micellar?) cleanser for babies. No chance of irritation or allergy with this product. In general, I think French brands are more likely to include baby products in their product range, as compared to Asian brands. But I could be wrong.
Hi Milktea,
That’s an interesting observation. The Japanese have Kao Merries (insanely pricey diapers), Pigeon (wipes, powder etc), Combi (yep, they not only make strollers, they make wipes too – ocean water baby wipes, made in Taiwan) but I can’t think of any Japanese beauty brand that has a baby line! Maybe Iris can throw some light on this. ;O)
