Review | Lancôme L’Absolu Mat Cashmere (Crème de Mat) in 300 Magie Pourpre

Here is Lancôme L’Absolu Mat Cashmere in 300 Magie Pourpre from the Lancôme Midnight Roses Fall 2012 collection.

L’Absolu Crème de Mat combines the gentleness of a gloss and the coverage of a lipstick with a deep velvety finish on the lips.

A striking lipgloss/liquid lipstick, Magie Pourpre (Purple Magic, in French) caresses the lips with a velvety-soft sensation that lends tactile verity to the word ‘cashmere’ in the product name.

Like the Lancôme L’Absolu Crème de Brillance range, it has an angled doe-foot applicator. The flat plane and tapered end help to spread the crème onto the lips and precisely colour them in; I love how easy it is to use.

Magie Pourpre is a richly-pigmented cool-toned raspberry whose depth can be built up with subsequent layers. Its silky touch comes with a surprising shine, despite its name. I attribute this to the lip-plumping and moisturising Pro Xylane, Lancôme’s patented ingredient.

I was amazed by its tenacity – it is a veritable lip stain when wiped off.

Its indelible nature might be daunting (the stain from my press piece lasted for hours!) but the brand recommends its popular Bi-Facil eye makeup remover for cleaning it off…it works. ;)

I love its comfortable texture – though it has a pretty sheen (its finish is somewhere between glossy and satiny), it has a plush softness and it isn’t sticky at all.

The colour brightens up my complexion but it can be somewhat loud on me. I keep wanting to deepen it with a berry~!
