Named after the French words for treasure and gold, the Lancôme TresOR makeup collection for Holiday 2012 draws inspiration from Ernest Hemingway’s accolade to the Parisian city lights: ‘Paris est une fête’ (Paris is a feast).
The gilded colours are reflective of the writer’s allusion to Paris as an open-air ballroom dressed in gold, with the imagery of shiny crystal chandeliers reflecting on golden mesh party dresses.
The collection is rather pretty albeit somewhat small.
Housed in jewel-like cases adorned with golden glitter, the limited edition Ombre Hypnôse Mono (S$36) eyeshadow singles – Fil d’Or, Mesh and Sequins have pan prints that look like beautiful sequins and mesh fabric. More than that, the colours are dense and smooth. Promising up to 16 hours of wear, this formula can be used wet or dry.
Les Paillettes Aux Yeux (S$36) is a sparkling loose pigment in a shaker-jar. Although it looks somewhat peachy in the bottle, it is pale gold on application.
Three limited edition Lumières de Paris (S$44) lipsticks are available in this collection: Rubis Infini, Opale Fatale, Agate Délicate. Silky and wearable, they are infused with golden reflections for subtle festive flair. They look more intense than they swatch but I’m sure they will appeal to many ladies who enjoy neutrals.

I’m actually disappointed we aren’t getting the richer, deeper Holiday lip shades that have been released in the Northern hemisphere (see the first image in this post). Unfortunately, being in Asia, Singapore only receives safe neutral colours that sell well. Thankfully, though we won’t be seeing the Christmas nail polishes, I was told that the Lancôme Vernis will be making their way to our sunny shores next year. Hurray for local beauty retail progress!

Mag I love the look of the three eye shadows. If I were to pick just one it would be the gold one. It sucks that they still think that Singaporean ladies will not buy strong and bold lip colours.
