Nuance-Watson is once again the first in Southeast Asia to launch a Taylor Swift Wonderstruck fragrance.
Available exclusively for now at the Perfumes & Cosmetics stores at Changi Airport, Wonderstruck Enchanted is interestingly described as an Oriental gourmand, though it smells like a sweet – non-cloying – berry with lingering traces of musk and vanilla…not terribly exotic as the name implies but still pleasant. I actually prefer this to the original, its base notes reminding me of Dior Dune but less oriental.
Here are the notes of this fragrance:
❧ A medley of wild berries and passion fruit atop the soft scent of pink poppy ❧
❧ A blush of peony swirls with sugar-glazed champaca petals and blooming white freesia ❧
❧ White musk, warmed by the enchanting mixture of hynoptic vanilla and blond woods ❧
In case you’re wondering, champaca is the magnolia flower. The creamy florals don’t come through as strongly as the fruity tones but the sensual woods are somewhat evident, making this a little more grown-up than last year’s flirty Wonderstruck.
Like that of the original fragrance, the carton has an embossed number 13 on its top – Swift’s lucky number.
The crimson flaçon also has the signature Wonderstruck iridescent finish and is adorned with a trio of charms (a bird, a leaf, a rose) in an antique gold hue for a vintage feel. Hand-selected by Swift, the trinkets reflect the singer’s unique style.
While last year’s bottle wowed with its holo glow, I’m more drawn to this one, perhaps because the red base sets off the prismatic complexity with more depth.
In Singapore, this eau de parfum retails at S$76 (50 ml) and S$92 (100 ml), excluding GST. Do note that travel retail prices can fluctuate and the prices might differ over the months.
If you don’t want to wait for the downtown stores to carry this scent, you might have to do some travelling…or ask friends and family who will pass through the airport to purchase it for you. :)
