A rosy brown, Pink Adobe is a versatile shade much like the ever-popular MAC Twig but with pinker undertones.
Like Twig, it doesn’t work quite so well when I wear it with no eye makeup. I have no problem with cool berries, plush plums and deep reds but clear rosy browns on their own just aren’t flattering on my skin tone. However, when paired with warm or neutral shades (clean or softly smokey), this lipstick looks entirely different and nicely finishes my looks.
Rare and exotic ingredients including soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomile flower oil create an ultra-creamy texture with an incredibly smooth application. Specially treated color pigments are blended to deliver pure color with just the right balance of luminosity.

Imbued with a satin shine, this lipstick is creamy and velvety. I like how it feels very lush on my lips. The lipstick isn’t drying but does feel a touch drier as time passes. As a whole, the smooth texture, together with the superb pigmentation, conveys a sense of luxury that is indubitably enhanced by the heft of the elegant angular tube.
Pink Adobe can pull warm or cool, depending on the eye/cheek colours I wear it with. In the photo above, I have neutral-warm shades on my eyes and cheeks.
And in this one, cooler smokey greened greys on my eyes and a cool blush on my cheeks. Interestingly, the lipstick complements the disparate tones of both looks.
I’m not one to splurge on a lipstick that is north of S$50 (it’s S$70 here in Singapore) but I did recently purchase Black Orchid, another Tom Ford lip colour whose plum hue I couldn’t resist.
Pink Adobe isn’t a must-have for me but if you already enjoy rich pink-brown lippies or are searching for something that can function as a safe, everyday colour and love the luxe aesthetics of the Tom Ford packaging, this lipstick is certainly something to look at.
This was a press piece but you can purchase it from the Tom Ford boutiques at Heathrow Airport Terminals 3 and 5 if you’re travelling to/through London, as well as from the Tom Ford boutique at Tangs Orchard if you’re in Singapore.
Pink Adobe looks very nice and wearable. It looks great on you. This could be my first TF lippie. Now I’ll wait till after Jan as I’m on a self imposed makeup ban. If I buy I’ll probably get from Saks.
Hi Jac,
It a crowd-favourite kind of shade. Very flattering on Asians, though I personally look better in more subdued shades. Let me know how you like it!
Hi Mag,
Glad to hear the wonderful texture this lipstick has. I love the satin shine! I am so intrigued to try Tom Ford’s lipstick but not sure because of the price :( Anyway, thanks for the review :)
Hi Meryl,
Some of the Tom Ford lippies are softer, so be sure to observe the testers. ;)
Ooh this lipstick is quite the shape-shifter! Or rather color-shifter. It looks different in the two looks that you had done yet it’s the same color, how interesting!
You need to check it out at the Tom Ford counter, Sara! ;)
