This spring, Lancôme Singapore presents a makeup collection that is at once inspired by the pop shades of street-art murals and the ‘vibrant tones of nature flirting with an urban spirit’.
The packaging print bears a toile de Jouy motif, a design which originates from cotton fabric created by 18th century artisans in Jouy-en Josas in France.
The collection comprises:
Lancôme Baume In Love in 110 Rose Macaron (S$40), a tinted lip balm formulated with shea butter.
The translucent pink shade imparts a just-bitten effect and a subtle sheen to the lips.
Lancôme Palette In Love in 001 Kaleidoslove (S$84), an eyesahdow quad with pinks and purples.
These complementary colours may seem very shimmery at first swatch, the sparkles overwhelming the shades. However, they are buildable, pigment-wise and intensify nicely with subsequent layers.
Lancôme Khôl In Love in 20 Jade Crush (S$30) the most eye-catching item in the collection, thanks to its striking turquoise hue.
It has a teal overtone that lends an unusual but pretty contrast to the pinks and purples above. A bonus: It’s very smudge-proof. ;)
Lancôme Blush In Love in 20 Pommettes d’Amour (S$70), a beautiful blush whose pan bears a pearlised overspray. It is also embossed with the same toile motif as the collection’s packaging. I didn’t snap a shot but the mirror on the lid can be removed from the compact, sliding out easily with an attached ribbon.
A mix of soft fuchsia and apricot offers a spring time glow – the shimmer isn’t overt and I love the satin-matte texture of the colours. The brand recommends that you apply the coral shade to the centre of the cheekbone, followed by the pink shade just above that, for a ‘Doll Cheeks’ effect.
Lancôme Vernis In Love in 20 Rose Macaron, a coral-rose crème whose pretty pink tones make it so apt for the beauty season.
The collection also includes eyeshadow singles Ombre In Love (S$36) and a special edition UV Expert BB Cream SPF 50+ and PA+++ (S$80) featuring the same motif on the tube.
