Chanel Coco Game Center in Singapore

Filled with makeup machines burbling beauty and flashing fun, Coco Game Center is a Chanel Beauty pop-up inspired by Japanese arcade halls.

Decked out in hot-rod red and punked-up pink, the space has an overtly playful theme – a contrast to the gentility and relaxed atmosphere of last year’s stunningly successful Coco Café.

As with the previous pop-up concept, the fashion house hopes to delight beauty aficionados, as well as introduce their extensive beauty range to the younger crowd.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

Upon entry, you will receive a player kit comprising two game tokens and a ticket.

Use the tokens at The Bubble Game (adorably named for the Chanel Hydra Beauty range), a claw machine where you can try to win travel-sized products ensconced in clear gashapon capsules.

Head to Coco Game Station (based on Chanel Rouge Coco), where you can play Coco Smash and Coco Sounds, single/double-player games using retro joysticks and buttons.

Who knows, you might even win something for your efforts. 😉

These machines light up with the press of a button, revealing a mirror. Selfie time!

A little farther in and you’ll be greeted by The Beauty Ride, an arcade-style racing game with a Chanel twist. Don’t forget your beauty gamer snapshot – this machine makes for a unique photo-op. 📸

#COCOGAMECENTER games in action!

More photo spots can be found in between the game machines. Trimmed with neon lights, they offer a flattering illuminating effect.

Position yourself strategically to capture the Chanel logo in the background. Here I am, being goofy with makeup artists Larry and Greg. 😊

The huge feature wall showcasing the giant interlocking Cs was cleverly created with 1742 (!) paper bags.

Lining the event space are little nooks studded with Chanel cushions. The backdrop, together with the pixel-like graphics on the pillows, is a subtle nod to the pop-up theme.

Even the products on the table tops call to mind Space Invaders, that classic arcade game.

When you’ve had enough of digital dalliance, take the time to explore the beauty play zones.

One of these is a stretch of products under a collage of mirrors charmingly-shaped like Chanel compacts.

Exciting exclusives (yes, they’ll only be sold at Coco Game Center) include:

Chanel N°5 L’Eau On Hand Cream (S$85)

This limited-edition perfumed hand cream bears a pleasing powdery-floral fragrance. I like the cheeky name which I’m assuming is a pun on the word “roll-on”, an allusion to the crème’s egg-shaped bottle.

Chanel Poudre Lumière Highlighting Powder in Rosy Gold (S$82)

Chanel does highlighters so well that you really don’t have to think twice about adding this to your stash. ✨

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Touch-Up Set (S$185), comprising Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation SPF 25 / PA +++ (in your shade), Les Beiges Healthy Glow Lip Balm (in your choice of colour) and a Foundation Sponge Brush in a zippered pouch.

You’ll also be privy to pop-up pre-launch products from the Chanel Les Beiges 2018 and Chanel Cruise 2018 Éclat et Transparence makeup collections, plus you’ll have a sneak peek at the new Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Liquid Essence and Chanel Hydra Beauty Masque de Nuit du Camelia.

They will be available islandwide from 3 May 2018.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Chanel Le Signe du Lion Illuminating Powders (Or Blanc and Or Rose) and the Chanel Rouge Allure Numéro Rouges lipsticks (N° 2 and N° 3) – these beloved limited-edition pieces in crimson lacquer have returned just for the pop-up. ♥️

There’s a scent station too, and if you are lucky enough to score a perfume sample from The Bubble Game, a Chanel Fragrance Expert there will give you a consultation based on a card game to select the right sniff for you.

You could, also, simply take a Chance. 😏

Remember the ticket in your player kit? Use it to redeem a tasty slushy to enjoy whilst you browse or before you pay for your products (the cashier is opposite the slushy station).

Coco Game Center is located at The Luxe Art Museum (6 Handy Road, 02-01, Singapore 229234) and is open to the public from today till 6 May 2018, 11 am to 9 pm.

You are encouraged to make a reservation HERE for priority entry. If you’re in the area, you could walk-in but be prepared to wait or denied entry, should the event space be full.

Here’s a quick walk-through video of the venue.
