DHC in Singapore

DHC is here!

As you’ve all guessed, the mystery Japanese skincare brand is DHC*. :)

Exclusive to Watsons Singapore, DHC is slated to launch this Thursday (5 November) and can be found at Watsons stores at Bugis Junction, Compass Point, Ion Orchard, Ngee Ann City and Raffles City by then. Like Majolica Majorca, the brand will progressively be available at other Watsons locations.

Boasting a store-within-a-store concept, DHC will have a dedicated space in Watsons, as well as beauty advisors to offer help.

If you’re really anxious, you could visit the Ngee Ann City store today – I hear that DHC might already be available there. ;)

DHC Olive Star Set

I personally love its essential skincare set based on olive oil. Here are the prices of the full-sized items in this star range:

Deep Cleansing Oil (200 ml) – S$42
Mild Soap – (90 g) S$26.50
Mild Lotion (100 ml) – $52.50
Olive Virgin Oil (30 ml) – S$69.50

Other best-sellers from the brand include:

DHC Eyelash Tonic

Eyelash Tonic – S$26.50

DHC Lip Cream

Lip Cream – S$16

DHC Vitamin C Essence

Vitamin C Essence – S$69.50

DHC Suncut Q10 SPF 50+ PA+++

Suncut Q10 50+ Light Touch SPF 50+ PA+++ Sunscreen – S$31.50

DHC for Men will be also available here, along with the popular DHC health supplements. The latter will début in January 2010, so keep your eyes peeled on Makeup Stash! for more information regarding this.

Like Muji, another famous Japanese brand, the spartan packaging belies the goodness that lies within their walls. No bells and whistles here, only unembellished receptacles for products that perform.

¥ S$

The price points are somewhat kind on our pockets, when you compare them to the prices in Japanese yen. Besides, the Watsons Card will stretch your dollar: You can accrue points with any purchase of DHC products or redeem / offset your DHC items using the points you have previously accumulated.

The best thing for me though? No more waiting for DHC in the mail or paying for shipping. Immediate gratification, minus hefty postage costs! :)

* DHC stands for Daigaku Honyaku Center, which means University Translation Centre, harking back to the days when the company started out providing translation services. Besides being involved in the beauty business, it also offers lingerie / apparel and education services (how incongruous :P).
