Hada Labo in Singapore

Singapore fans of Hada Labo can now rejoice – this Japanese brand renowned for its moisturising skincare range has finally reached our shores. Already available in several parts of the region, Hada Labo will be exclusively sold at Watsons stores across the island from June 2010. (ETA: An eagled-eyed reader has reported seeing the products at the stores already).

Available to us for now are:

  • The Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA) Hydrating Range
  • The AHA/BHA Exfoliating Range
  • The Arbutin Whitening Range

I attended a Hada Labo launch event last week and learnt from Rohto-Mentholatum – its parent company – that the brand also carries other ranges, including an anti-aging one. However, there are no plans (yet) for those to be introduced here.

In Chinese, the kanji of the brand’s name is pronounced as (肌) yàn (研), which means research for the skin. With Rohto’s strong research background (they of the famous eyedrops!), this skincare brand certainly piques my interest.

The prices of its products range from S$12.90 to S$30.90. Not too bad, considering that its star product, the Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion, is apparently so popular that a bottle is sold every four seconds in Japan!

More information on this brand and the launch event soon. In the meantime, I leave you with this cute little image that explains how SHA works. :)

Yes, it is! I don’t know the Japanese prices but they seem pretty reasonable to me. If it helps, you can accrue rebate $ with the Watsons Card. :)

    Hi farah,

I’ve no idea. They did say they’re testing the waters for a bit before introducing new products.

  • FarahDean says:

    Hi Sisca,
