Earlier this week, I was invited by MAC Singapore to attend a MAC Fabulous Felines event at its Ngee Ann City store (also Singapore’s MAC Pro store).
Featuring the three alliterative cat-inspired collections for fall 2010 – Palace Pedigreed, Leopard Luxe and Burmese Beauty – the event included a makeup demonstration by MAC Senior Artist Beno Lim (he is also the MAC Pro makeup artist for Singapore – *yay* to Singapore finally having a MAC Pro artist again after Celestine Sng left the brand), as well as a mini fashion showcase crafted by catwalk choreographer Jerome.
Here are the models waiting to strut their stuff. They were all beautiful and carried off the fall makeup really well. I liked how they knew when to smile (and when not to). ;)
Here they are, posing before Beno’s demonstration.
Almost like being on the set of a fashion shoot…
…and a page from a fashion magazine!
One last feline fling before the cat tamer comes on. ;)
According to Beno, this makeup season focuses on seamless skin, satin eyes and beauty that is fierce yet feminine.
The models already had their makeup done but Beno explained which palette/colours he’d used to create his look, applying a few choice shades lightly on the models’ faces.
Beno recommended MAC Pigment in Old Gold, a gorgeous duo-chrome that I’m quite fond of, for its soft reflective finish.
He used MAC Tapered Blending Brush in 224 to gently blend the colours.
He also introduced the new MAC Super Slick Liquid Eye Liner – see the fine cat eye line he had drawn on the Leopard Luxe model’s eye?
Midway through, he told us that he’d done the makeup for this week’s issue of Urban. Apparently, the leopard print trend will once more luxuriate in (its moment in) the sun!
He used MAC Lip Pencil in Burgundy topped with MAC Frost Lipstick in Cunning for this stunning berry lip.
Here is Jerome commenting on the Palace Pedigreed model’s beautiful lips.
I liked how the the romantic coiffure juxtaposed with the dramatic eyes.
However, my favourite look was the one Beno created with the Burmese Beauty quad. ♥
Beno used MAC’s Face and Body Foundation (S$58) on the models – yes, it is available in Singapore at last! This foundation has been a mainstay in many makeup artists’ kits because it is lightweight and gives an airbrushed finish.
MAC describes it like this:
A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides long-lasting, natural coverage for face and/or body. Ideal for all skin types. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend, water-resistant formula. The long-lasting formula is available in a wide range of colours and contains several emollients to help moisturize and condition the skin. It delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body.
I’m so glad they’ve brought it in!
After the demo, I was treated to a mini manicure done by Deniz Lee. I thought the coat with the words ‘MAC Nails’ printed on it was cute.
I naturally chose MAC Nail Lacquer in Jade Dragon from the Jin Soon for MAC Nail Trend Fall/Winter 2010 nail colour collection. This blackened green with blue micro-shimmer is my kind of shade!
To attend this event today and tomorrow, simply call the Ngee Ann City store at 6735 6622. You will receive a Fabulous Felines makeover and a manicure session with the MAC Fall/Winter 2010 nail colours too. See below for details.
I was glad to have caught up with a few of the MAC staff. Sarah, Iris and Kas also attended the event and we had an enjoyable time experiencing the makeup artistry that always embodies MAC. Here are other photos from the event:
One of my favourite people from MAC…and one of the best shots from the night! I love the Fabulous Felines backdrop.
This gorgeous MAC damsel has skin that literally glows!
I’ve known Beno since he was at Tangs Orchard; it’s great to know he’s doing so well at MAC. (Ack, I wish I looked better in the photo though – the double-chin angle is not flattering at all!)
Don’t Sarah and I look like we work there? ;)
Me and Sarah! I love how her cam picked up the glow (aura?) that the new Lancôme Teint Miracle foundation imparts to my face.
With my two beauty pals. :)
I love this shot of us from Sarah’s cam!
Some products that caught my eye. I’m not really a lip person but these are quite special. I especially love Cunning’s dark berry hue – very suitable for the season, yes?
One last look at the cat-llections! ;)

Wow, you were so fast in putting this post up! I got home last night and immediately crashed after showering :-p
Hi Iris,
I knew I wouldn’t have the time to do it over the weekend, so I might as well do it asap! ;) I like how the photos turned out. :)
had wanted to go there with my sis for her birthday but all slots were FULL :(
thanks for the great post :)
Hi Shopaholic,
Wow, that was quick! I was under the impression that there were still slots available. You can still watch the demos though – they’re open to the public! :)
Love this shot of you! Very good skin you always have, Mag!!!
Hi Farah,
Thanks! My skin is not as good as before though. :( That even-ness and radiance that you see in the photo come from the Lancome foundation; I can tell the difference when I compare my bare-faced reflection/photo to my face with this foundation on. :)

Hi Angie,

Hi,
I would like to purchase the MAC face and body foundation but i could not find any in the stores. any idea?
Hi Esther,
It’s only available at the MAC Pro store at Ngee Ann City.
Hi, I’m heading to Singapore in August and would like to purchase the face and body, however you said it’s only available at pro store? Does this mean I need a pro card to purchase or will they sell it to tourists? Thanks :)
Hi Aimee,
Yes, it’s available to tourists. All Pro products at MAC Pro stores are available to the public; the only difference is that only MAC Pro card holders are entitled to the Pro discount. :)
How to get pro card me from india
Hi Nile,
Please check the MAC Pro website.
