When Kosé Singapore sent me Esprique Precious Layer Cheeks in 01 Coral Red to try last year, I was delighted by this Christmas surprise.
An exquisite palette of four cheek colours, this blush quad contains a coral, a white gold, a sweet pink and a rosy mauve. Sold separately from the case, the blush refill (S$35) comes with a plastic flap to protect the pan.
The case (S$15) is a sleek compact that contains a soft, flat brush (pictured above).
This combination is quite unusual and affords several blush options. I wondered if it’d be predominantly coral, given the seeming strong-looking shade but when mixed together, the finished blend is a soft and flattering reddened pink. What I like about this is that the softness is not so much sheer as it is refined.
The smooth texture of the colours, as well as their translucence, allows one to layer the shades (hence the name). If you’re partial to more pigmented blushes but would like to experience the fineness of this blush quad, I’d recommend that you use this over a cream blush under a powder.
01 Coral Red has a pink counterpart – 02 Pink Rose. For more information on Coral Red and Pink Rose, do read Iris’s excellent review of these blushes.
