I recently downloaded the free version of the Better Beauty e-book, Better Beauty: The Cult.
According to the parent company of this e-book, Better:

Currently only available on the iPad, this app impressed me with its writing quality and stylish interactive layout. It’s fairly easy to navigate and I especially appreciate the beauty stockist list that accompanies the app. (There’s always Google but having the list of addresses and numbers at my fingertips saves time.)
Part e-magazine, part beauty catalogue, the cult beauty theme of this first book revolves around beauty products and brands that have massive fan bases around the world.
The free version contains a handful of interesting articles about MAC Viva Glam, makeup gadgetry and vibrating mascaras, as well as MAC beauty looks. Clickable links and moving images set this e-book apart from the static words and visuals of conventional print media.
This e-book also contains other articles that can be unlocked with the purchase of this app (US$1.99 via iTunes/the Mac App Store). Among the topics covered are:
