A collaboration with fashion label Milly, the Clinique Pretty in Prints collection for Spring 2011 was exclusively created by US fashion and accessories designer Michelle Smith.
With the brand’s focus on ‘exquisite prints and colours, classic silhouettes with a sensual, feminine flair’, fans of Milly include Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Beyoncé, and Thandie Newton.
The collection comprises:
- Pretty in Prints Compact (S$58)
Containing Colour Surge Eye Shadow Quad in Printed Pinks and Blushing Blush in Precious Posy, this is a limited edition makeup palette of essential eye, cheek, and lip colours composed of rich browns and sweet pinks. The eye-catching silver palette is adorned with the Milly print – a swirled floral motif that has retro flair.
- Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 lip colour in Milly Pink (S$31)
Michelle’s favourite pink, a warm-toned melon shade, this gloss gives a pretty pop of colour to the lips.
- Lash Power Volumizing Mascara (S$38)
A long-lasting mascara, this product has a brush applicator specially designed for sparse, barely-there lashes.
Veteran makeup artist Celestine Sng was at the Milly for Clinique event to demonstrate the use of the palette. I was quite excited to see her – she used to be a MAC Pro Artist (now re-named Senior Artist) and was, in fact, the first in Asia! With her expertise and experience, it was a treat to watch her in action.
Here are the models she worked on. Celestine created looks that were glamorous (70’s Glam with a Modern Twist), natural (Au Naturel) and sweet (All-Time Pretty Girl).

Here I am with Sophia and Iris who also attended the event. :)
Pretty in Prints is available from February 2011 at Clinique counters island-wide.
