When I opened the press sample of this giant lipgloss/balm, I was amused to see that the packaging resembled the chunky tubes of glue many of us have used in our youth. Thankfully, there’s nothing tacky about this product.
Smooth, glossy and imbued with a hint of colour, it has a sweet fruity scent, typical of many Lip Smacker products. The fragrance isn’t cloying, thankfully, although the packaging might be a tad cutesy. Then again, a bit of Paul Frank whimsy doesn’t hurt – this is quite a cheery item to have in the makeup pouch!
Available at Guardian, Sasa and Watsons stores across the island, this chunky monkey gloss (sorry, Ben & Jerry’s; the name is just so apt here!) retails at S$8.90. It may be a touch unwieldy (look how huge it is compared to Julius’ Coconut Cream Lip Smacker, a regular Paul Frank Lip Smacker) but if you’ve ever despaired of sifting through your purse for fiddly – and often-times elusive – lip balm tubes, this hefty Biggy is for you. ;)
