I recently received Clarins Colour Quench Lip Balm in 04 Raspberry Smoothie, a sweet raspberry pink lipgloss infused with multi-coloured micro-shimmer.
The cheery hue easily brightens up the visage, while the slant tip applicator makes for smooth and hygienic dispensation of the product.
The slick and non-sticky formula feels comfortable on the lips. It has buildable intensity and layers well too but what I really like is its natural berry scent that is refreshing and naturally sweet (it isn’t cloying at all, unlike some gloss scents from other brands). At S$33, it isn’t the cheapest lipgloss out there but it does have a good texture and one of the nicest gloss scents. :)
The name of this revamped lipgloss range from Clarins alludes to juicy colours and sure enough, the shimmery hues look cheery and luscious. Marketed as lip balms, these juicy sticks of fruity-booty for the lips are really high-shine, moisturising lipglosses. From left to right are: 01 Pink Marshmallow, 02 Peach Nectar, 03 Candy Pink, 04 Raspberry Smoothie, 05 Delicious Plum, 06 Sweet Papaya, 07 Strawberry Sorbet, 08 Sweet Fig.
As with all Clarins makeup products, they contain skincare ingredients. Formulated with mango oil for lip reparation and nourishment, hyaluronic acid to hydrate, Hydracire®S (a combination of jojoba, mimosa, sunflower waxes) to seal in moisture and Vitamin E for its anti-oxidant properties, the range promises to quench and protect dry lips.
This lip range is part of Clarins’s Mosaïque collection for Summer 2011 which comprises Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balm in three variations (01 Crystal Coral, 02 Crystal and 03 Crystal Red - click here for a great shot of these crystalline lip products) and the limited edition Mosaïque Summer Bronzing Compact SPF10.
