If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you probably already know today’s piece of beauty news that has me excited: According to Beno Lim, MAC Cosmetics Singapore’s Senior Artist, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade will be reappearing this year. (More specifically in October, for those of us in Singapore.)
Part of the December 2006 MAC Danse Collection, this MSF has become a legendary item of sorts, being sought after by many for its beauty in the pan and its lovely finish on the visage. Its hot-commodity status is also enhanced by the difficulty in obtaining it.
Formulated with micro-minerals, light-reflecting and dimensional on the skin, it is the first Mineralize Skinfinish to work threads of colour together to create a beautifully nuanced shade.

Part of the MAC x Cindy Sherman collection for Autumn 2011, this gorgeous MSF with its ethereal mélange of colours holds a special place in my heart. In fact, I love it so much that I actually finished my first piece.
I have a back-up of this fabled MSF but I cannot bear to use it, preferring instead to seek solace in (ha!) and hopefully finish its close cousins and semi-dupes – Etude Marbleade Baked Blush in 3, Tony Moly Shimmer Lover Cube in 03 Pure Cocktail, NARS Highlighting Powder in Albatross, Revlon Highlighting Face Powder in Pure Confection and NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in Highlighter – first.
MAC Lightscapade MSF goes for insane prices on eBay but this relaunch will probably drive the prices down…unless the new pieces are vastly different from the original ones, as can happen with MAC repromotes (remember the infamous MAC Eye Shadow in Parrot?).
I hope the swirled pastel rainbow hues of the new version will please. I know I will be purchasing more than one piece, if it is anything like the previous one. *Fingers crossed* for the original or a better formula! ;)
