New Laneíge Water Bank Series

If you’re hoping for Song Hye Kyo’s dewy complexion without moving to South Korea for its temperate climes, the new Laneíge skincare range might be your answer.

Like Biotherm Aquasource, the Laneíge Water Bank Series has been revamped, promising extended hydration for the skin. To boost skin moisture levels, the brand has modified the original formulation with ‘designer water’. Odd name for a skincare ingredient but Asian brands do have their quirks! ;)

According to the brand:

The designer water is unique to the Water Pump System, a hydration technology that forms the core of the new Water Bank Series. Containing a golden ratio of skin-friendly minerals, the content found in the designer water is delicately distilled and balanced to achieve optimal efficacy. Not only does it increase the rate of skin regeneration, the designer water also fortifies damaged skin cells, restoring them to a plump, healthy condition.

Complementing Laneige’s designer water within the Water Pump System are the Hydro Holder and the Hydro Activator. The Hydro Holder consists of essential amino acids which strengthen skin cell’s capability to absorb and withhold moisture. Glasswort extracts, the highlight of the Hydro Activator, renew and support Aquaporin 8, a water channel protein, enabling moisture to be effectively and evenly siphoned to each and every skin cell.

Drawing from the basic concepts of hydraulic power, effectual absorption and distribution harnessed in the Water Pump System keep skin sufficiently hydrated. This seamless composition of the Designer Water, Hydro Holder and Hydro Activator in the revitalized Water Bank Series ensures non-stop moisturization from the initial 12 hours to 24 hours.

This revitalised Water Bank Series comprises:

  • Water Bank Essence
  • Water Bank Gel Cream
  • Water Bank Moisture Cream
  • Water Bank Intensive Cream
  • Water Bank Double Moisture Mask

Two current award-winning products, Water Bank Hydro Gel and Water Bank Eye Gel, complete the series.

Going off-topic: Looking at Song Hye Kyo (left) reminds me of Han Hyo Joo (right), another Korean actress who resembles her closely.

I’m currently seeing the latter in a re-run of Brilliant Legacy (also known as Shining Inheritance) – she displays wonderful emotional range in the drama and has nice chemistry with Korea’s No. 1 乖仔, Lee Seung Gi. ;) She is currently the face of LG Cosmetics brand, Su:M37°*.

Isn’t the resemblance uncanny?

* Yet another odd name. Incidentally, Lee Seung Gi is the face of The Saem…the peculiar names just keep coming! :P
