The latest scent to join the family of Crabtree & Evelyn fragrances, Pomegranate is subtly sweet and fruity, thanks to its currant notes. It is lifted by an almost-effervescent citrus edge and marked with a distinctive fresh greenness of fig leaf. The Pomegranate range is certainly worth a try (or more) if you have a penchant for fresh and sweet scents.
A symbol of fecundity since ancient times because of its rotund shape and copious seeds, the pomegranate is receiving a lot of attention in the beauty world these days, thanks to its rich Vitamin C content and anti-oxidant properties (thank you, polyphenols!). Given its popularity these days, I’m not surprised the brand chose to showcase this fruit of fertility.
I’ve been enjoying warm showers with Crabtree & Evelyn Pomegranate Skin Cleansing Bath & Shower Gel (S$30/250ml), a lovely gift sent by the brand. It lathers quite well, cleansing excellently without stripping the skin of moisture, as some washes are wont to do. A closer look at the bottle reveals that the wash contains a ‘conditioning blend of antioxidant-rich pomegranate and grapeseed extracts, together with nourishing argan and glycerin’ – it doesn’t simply use the word ‘conditioning’ to its advantage but thankfully lives up to the adjective.
The fragrance is surprisingly long-lasting in the shower gel. Paired with Pomegranate Skin Quenching Body Lotion (S$35/250ml), also a gift from the brand, this is quite a pampering treat for my skin. :)
I love the smell of Pomegranate – so refreshing!
Hey Jamilla,
And it’s good for our health too! ;)
Incidentally, this fruit yields the most points on the game Fruit Ninja. :P
