I recently finished a 15 ml sample bottle of this cleanser, a gwp I’d received when I made a Guerlain purchase. Promising to smooth and soothe, this eye and lip makeup remover from Guerlain is a bi-phase (oil + water) emulsion, formulated to gently remove more tenacious makeup.
It doesn’t sting my eyes but I did experience slight discomfort while using it. It easily removes cream and powder eye makeup but doesn’t entirely clean off smudge-proof or even water-resistant products – there would be faint stains near the rims of my eyes. It adequately cleans off lipsticks and glosses, though there was residue sometimes, with stronger colours and stickier textures.
As for the smooth and soothe promise, it didn’t leave my eye area dry, that’s for certain but while it didn’t sting my eye like the cleansing milk from the same range, it didn’t seem particularly soothing to me. I don’t know how much it costs but I won’t purchase the full-sized bottle as other bi-phase cleansers work just as well, if not better, on me.
