High-end Japanese brand RMK celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. To commemorate the decade and a half of ‘bringing out a person to shine’ through beauty, the brand has created two special cheek palettes: 01 Pink Coral and 02 Brown Beige.
Here’s a closer look at Pink Coral, the brighter and more colourful palette of the two.
This embossed blush comprises a brown (the fairy’s bob ’do and antennae), a white (her face and neck), a cherry (her choker/necklace), a yellow, an orange, a strawberry, a coral (her petal dress) and a pastel pink (the background).
It took a bit of nerve to swatch my preview sample of the palette, given the pretty print. Even then, I couldn’t bear to deface the pixie’s features!
I didn’t make individual swatches but a broad swipe across the petals imparted a beautiful pink-coral shade with ultra-fine shimmer and a glowing iridescence that’s characteristic of the brand.
Fans of the brand will probably not be able to bring themselves to graze the pan at all but more practical makeup users will appreciate the blend of different tones and textures. With its cool and warm shades (adjust as you will), this flattering blush palette will complement different eye looks.
This whimsical-looking palette is limited edition, of course. It’s indubitably a collector’s item, thanks to its precise print and delightful detail (see the fairy’s lashes and upturned nose?). I’ll admit it’s a little twee for my taste but the colours are so pleasing that it makes me smile.
In Singapore, it retails at S$85, just a touch higher than its Japanese retail price of ¥5250.
A fairy-themed mini tote is currently available with purchases of S$220 and above.
The sweet print features a unicorn, as well as three sprites toting a mascara wand, a nail polish and a lipstick…probably an allusion to the makeup magic that RMK has woven over the years. ♥

I saw it yesterday at Taka and it was so pretty!!
Hi Joey,
The colours are smooth and softly glimmery; very classy.
They are really cute palettes. I’m just too practical to spend on high-end makeup. But I’d like to receive them for free anytime. :D

Hi Jenny,
I do splurge on some really gorgeous high-end palettes (last purchase: Guerlain Cruel Gardenia). The ones with more intricate prints I might hesitate to purchase because I know I’ll be leery of mussing up the surface, ha!
This is realll cute but I bet I won’t be brave enough to swipe such a cute blush :)
Hi Meryl,
I know exactly how you feel. I had to do it for this post, though, heh.
how adorable! love the shade too <3
Hi Amy,
The end-colour varies, depending on what you mix together but yes, very pretty! :)
