This Valentine’s Day, I posted a stream of product pairings on Instagram and thought I’d share them here.
Affectionately known as the Super Serums in the brand’s skincare range, Lancôme Génifique Youth Activator and Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector are staples for many of my friends.
According to them, the pair keeps skin firm and blemish-free when used together. Though they do stray to other skincare products, they always come back to this combination because of its efficacy.
With higher SPF and enhanced oil-control, the new Shu Uemura Poreraser UV Under Base Mousse is set to replace 2 shades (Beige and Pink) from the existing UVUB range.
The new Shu Uemura Dual Fit Powder in Light Purple, a pressed powder with oil-control and moisture properties, is a good complement to the Poreraser for light makeup days. Together, they impart translucent coverage, evening out the skin tone with a soft touch. Great for light makeup days!
For more coverage yet keeping a natural finish, try Diorskin Nude Compact. As you can guess from its name, it’s meant to be a your-skin-but-better product, though I think it’s heavier than that but in a good way.
Pair it with Dior Skinflash Radiance Booster Pen for a more flawless look – this magic wand brightens the under-eye area, diminishes the appearance of nasal-labial lines and conceals faint blemishes.
The new Lancôme Khôl in Love in Jade Crush is a vibrant teal pencil that strikingly sets off the iridescent mint green of Lancôme Ombre Hypnôse in Vert Innocent, creating an ethereal eye with a chic edge.
I’m so glad the kohl pencil from the brand is making a comeback; it used to be quite a popular item in the past.
From the Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Northern Lights collection, Blush Radiance in No. 8 and Boréal Palette Polar Night Highlighter Powder impart a gentle glow to the cheeks.
The latter is quite a beauty, with its pale pink reflects.
Nars Lipstick and Nail Lacquer in Jungle Red are prime examples of classic reds – they will never go out of style. Perfect for both V-Day and the Lunar New Year, yes?
The name always makes me think of the wild and the visceral…a clear testimony to François Nars’s belief in giving his products a character.
Lastly, the new Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipsticks in Venetian Rose and Fantasia are wearable neutral shades with mauve overtones for a modern touch.
If the brighter colours in the range scare you, do try these safer options to experience the silky pigment-rich formula.
And speaking of the Japanese brand, Shiseido Singapore recently sent me some chocolate cubes from the Shiseido Parlour as a Valentine’s Day surprise.
These sweet treats came all the way from Ginza in Tokyo and were scrumptious! ♥
Special thanks to Bagaholicboy for the lovely Burberry lippy love visual.
