After a long wait, these striking cream eyeshadows from Maybelline are finally here in Singapore.
Boasting ‘the intensity of ink and the tenacity of a tattoo’ they promise to be waterproof and creaseproof, lasting around the clock.
Made in the USA, they are created with a unique ‘hot-pour’ system:
A combination of volatile fluids, waxes, a lightweight gellant and a duo of pearls and colourants is mixed, heated and poured at high temperature. During the cooling process, the volatiles evaporate. What’s left is everything you never imagined in an eye shadow: a smooth-as-silk cream gel impregnated with color as intense as ink.
Housed in sturdy glass jars, 8 colours are available here:
Edgy Emerald, Fierce & Tangy, Painted Purple, Tenacious Teal (4 bright and intense shades)
Audacious Ashphalt, Bad to the Bronze, Bold Gold, Tough as Taupe(4 neutral everyday shades)
I have 4 from the range and recently tested them.
They are generally lightweight and pigmented, though the vivid purple – the one I had high hopes for – applies patchily.
In Singapore, they retail at S$15.90 – more than double their price in the States but still pretty decent, given their performance.
