Majolica Majorca in Singapore
Majolica Majorca is finally hitting local and regional shores! Once found only in a smattering of niche beauty stores in the Southeast Asian region, MJ, as it sometimes called, will now be officially launched in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
One of Shiseido’s many drugstore brands, Majolica Majorca is a cult favourite with both local and Japanese women. I am especially awed by its highly imaginative website which changes with each makeup collection. The design is exquisite and its execution of concepts, stellar. I love how the website brings out the ideas of each collection perfectly.
Unfortunately, the products themselves do not impress me as they are a little meh, in general. The eyeshadows are rather ordinary, although some are nicer than average in colour and texture, while some stand out for their breathtaking packaging (the Majewels come to mind).
However, I currently own and like the brow pencils – they vary in nib (the super fine nib is perfect for precision) and I am taken with the ingenuity of their interchangeable parts. I have yet to try the mascaras (they’re in my stash!) but I have heard good things about them and have high hopes for them.
May the price points be gentle on our purses!
