I was watching Episode 11* of Boys Before Flowers when I discovered that Kim Hyun Joong is the face for TonyMoly.
I am not familiar with this brand but its packaging is reminiscent of Skinfood’s, thanks to its vintage-feel graphics. Its tubes and jars are also somewhat similar to those of the latter.

Kim has a tendency to look effeminate because of his delicate features but before any fans start hurling abuse at me or spam me for denigrating their idol, I must say he has a beautiful smile. He may not be the best actor on the show but when he smiles…*melts*
He is stylishly coiffed in the first part of the series – I love how the layers fall over his eye, imparting a splash of dashing. His character may seem aloof but whenever he rescues damsel in Jan-distress (props to Dramabeans for her coinage), I am utterly charmed.
However, I like him best when he is half-amused and acting as a foil to the other characters in the show, especially Gu Jun Pyo, who is played by Lee Min Ho. Like his fellow actor, Lee is also the face for a beauty brand.

* I disliked this episode for its incongruences and was, for most of the time, frustrated with the female lead‘s inertia and deviation from her character. That said, I was tickled when Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun Joong’s character) was watching another character on the show model for ‘TonyTony’ – surely that was a shout-out to the actor’s endorsement of the brand! :D

He is dashing indeed…aaah! I too wonder at Jandi’s coldness towards him, considering her affinity to him from the beginning. Can you imagine having a ‘soulmate’ such as he; someone who’s always there to rescue you in times of trouble?
I think it’s precisely this reconstructed fairytale premise that contributes to the draw of BBF!

Good point about Jandi draining him. Her over-reliance does get tiring after a while. We don’t want Ji Hoo to be constantly sad and angsty now, do we? :P
I actually screamed and yelled at the PC while watching BOF, and had to like shout all the way when that dumb jandi doesn't understand a thing jihoo said.
