Pop Beauty Eye Cake/Liner Cake in Darkness

Originally priced at S$29, Sephora at Ngee Ann City is now offering the Pop Beauty Eye Cakes at S$18. Made in Taiwan, these eyeshadow quints are housed in a cute circular tin.

I bought Liner Cake in Darkness, an Eye Cake that consists of an electric blue, a multi-coloured charcoal with dominant blue shimmer, a grape, a moss and a gunmetal. Not all the colours in this striped palette are pigmented; in fact, a couple were slightly difficult to swatch and unmemorable in terms of texture (I can’t remember which ones offhand).

That said, I don’t mind the extra effort because the grey is a dream. This smooth and shimmery shadow reminds me of the pewters that I love, only lighter. The shade has a hint of mauve that lifts it and makes it more complex than it looks. It also pairs easily with the velvety plum (the most pigmented of the five) to make a pretty smokey eye.

Designed to be liners used wet or dry, these five shadows can be applied on the lids as well. Affordable and versatile, this set will help you create both colourful and single-toned smokes. :)
