MAC Autumn / Winter 2009 Collections

This AW09, MAC will launch three special collections: DSquared², Style Black and Makeup Art Cosmetics.

I was at a MAC HDTV Masterclass held by the very talented Gregory Arlt today and was able to see their testers, together with those of the Well-Defined collection with the new – super wearable – Studio Sculpt Foundation and Concealer that debuted in the States this spring.

MAC’s AW09 trend is all about exuberant hues, sculpting and my fave, blacks. Below are photos of the collections and some swatches. The items are incomplete but I hope they would satisfy your curiosity for now! :)

These fall products are beautiful and I’m truly anticipating their launch at local counters. The vibrant colours in the Makeup Art Cosmetics collection are amazing; I’m sorry I didn’t have the chance to swatch them. You can see some of them on Specktra though! :) I am in love with Style Black which will launch in Singapore this October. I’m definitely purchasing both the black lippies and Bat Wing Cream Colour Base. The looks one can create with them! ♥ The Grease Paint Sticks from DSquared² also caught my eye – they wear like iron and contain beautiful shimmer. They remind me of the Shadesticks but seem to go on better.

OMGosh! I am going to be so broke by the end of the year! MAC is pure evil I say! :P

Thank you Mag for the wonderful info, photos and swatches! :D

  • Connie De Alwis says:

I spot colorful eyeshadows! I'm wondering why no Fluidlines and Paint Pots for all of this year's collections :-/

The Dsquared Grease Paint Sticks look soooo goood….

    Thanks for the pics!

  • Tracy says:

The eye quads look real yummy. Good time to play with a bit of colour as well.

WOW… thanks for the information!!! I so loving all the single eyeshadows in Makeup Art cosmetic collection and style black OMY… who wouldn't want it!!!!!!

  • Mellerson says:

It all looks stunning! What's your take on the mineralize shadows, are they unique colors? Does all the sparkle/glitter easily fall off?

  • Karelessly in Love says:

    Thanks for the head up!

  • Grace London says:

Style black is calling to me too – I am sure I'll end up with that CCB and at least one of the mineralize eyeshadows.

  • Krasey Beauty says:

    eclecticsatire,

You're very welcome! It was a pleasure to swatch them. :) Style Black is mine! :D

  • makeupmag says:

    Hey Connie,

Yes, there are some very vibrant colours! The Grease Paint Sticks really wear well. Took me a while to remove them. Not sure about the Paint Pots but I vaguely recall seeing some coloured pots somewhere…

  • makeupmag says:

    Hi Tracy,

The quads look wearable and thankfully do not have strange colour combinations.

  • makeupmag says:

    Everbluec,

You're welcome! The Makeup Art Cosmetics collection is a contrast to Style Black but both are so attractive~!

  • makeupmag says:

    Mellerson,

As you can guess from the swatch, the sparkles do fall out easily. I think using them wet or over a base would rectify this problem though. I believe they're basically black with an overspray or at the very least filled with less of the colourful shimmer inside than on top. Do I make sense?!

  • makeupmag says:

You're welcome, Karelessly in Love. Hope this has stirred some lemmings for you! ;)

  • makeupmag says:

*Waves* Grace London! Style Black will look awesome on your beautiful fair skin. I can't wait to see you rock this collection! :D

  • makeupmag says:

    *Waves* FacesBySarah!

Did you see me? I felt and looked fat yesterday though, so I didn't look very good, lol! :P

I would've recognised you but I was too busy talking to Gregory (he is AWESOME!) / the MAC staff / some ex-MAC MAs, together with swatching the products…so busy that I left my notes there, sigh! Fortunately, they kept my notebook for me. :D

Say hi, ok, if you see me at such events. It'd be nice to chat in person. :)

PS: I look awfully round in some of my pics with Gregory, alas! Hahaha!
