As the official makeup brand for Missoni and other high-end labels for this year’s Audi Fashion Fest, MAC Singapore has a dedicated backstage area to prettify their models.
This afternoon, I was able to watch the MAC makeup artists work their magic on the models for the Missoni A/W 2011 show before the girls went down the runway.
According to MAC Senior Artist Beno Lim, the look for the show centred on clean skin, strong brows and deep red lips – essentially an haute couture look that would work for the red carpet as well.
Below are the products he used on this particular model:
Face
- MAC Select Moisturecover Concealer
- MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
Cheeks
- MAC Medium Dark Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Face Powder to contour
- MAC Gloss Texture (PRO) to highlight the cheek bones
Brows
- MAC Lingering Brow Crayon and MAC Charcoal Brown Eye Shadow for definition and colour
Eyes
- MAC Gloss Texture (PRO) on the mobile lid for subtle shine
- MAC Graphblack Technakohl Liner on the waterline
- No mascara
Lips
A mixture of MAC Black Lipmix (PRO), MAC Burgundy Lip Pencil and MAC Russian Red Lipstick
Classy!

Thanks :) that was fascinating! wish I could have that many mac products…heavenly indeed…
oh and I LOVE the color palette of those Missoni clothes, probably couldn’t afford them though!
Hi Jan,
I loved seeing all that makeup. Interestingly, yesterday’s show was quite minimal in terms of the look and the products used. The MAs were very neat too! :D
Is the MAC Gloss Pro any good? Haha looks very nice on the model…
Hi Cheryn,
To be honest, I don’t think it’s a practical product for everyday use; it’s more suited for runway looks! ;)
But I loved those slightly tinted and glow-y glosses on the eyelids :x wonder when I can find one….haha.
Hi Cheryn,
You can try it if your lids aren’t prone to creasing. It is a PRO product, though and not available here. It last appeared in the Makeup Art Cosmetics collection last year but I can’t recall if it even made it here.
Alternatively, you could use Vaseline or MAC Lipglass in Clear over a cream/powder shadow. ;)
Ooooh vaseline! I have that..though it smells funky! Haha shall try out this combination soon…thanks! :D
