Here is Clio Cosmetics Eye Love You Shadow Pencil in Night Navy, a pretty eyeliner whose length is wrapped in a striking jewel-toned violet. It’s undeniably eye-catching and so easy to find amidst my extensive collection of eye pencils.

I have a soft spot for inky yet sparkly pencils and Night Navy is one such product – a blackened navy shot through with teal micro-glitter.

It’s not only a delight to swatch, it also swiftly lines my eyes, the sparkles showing up well. It can cake a little upon application but smooths out easily. It lasts fairly long, once set – thanks to this fact and its name, I had high hopes for it as an eyeshadow, as well as a shadow base.

Unfortunately, the sparkles migrate to my finger tips when I try to smudge out the pencil on my lids, so the best way to use this as a shadow is to layer it onto the lids evenly (a few smooth strokes do the trick) and blend minimally or not at all. As a base for other shadows, dabbing and gentle blending work best; when done right, it makes an awesome base for other smoky shades, especially when the sparkles shine through.
