To celebrate its 140th anniversary, Shiseido will be introducing special edition bottles of Eudermine Revitalizing Essence in its original form. The first Shiseido product created in 1897, this softening lotion was packaged in a ruby-red faceted glass bottle with a quaint-looking glass stopper.
Combining the Greek words eu (good) and derma (skin), Eudermine became affectionately known as ‘Shiseido’s Red Water’. In 1997, the brand stepped up the formulation and repackaged it in a sleek bottle designed by Serge Lutens, a stark difference from the retro-looking bottle.
This limited commemorative edition expresses ‘Shiseido’s commitment to combining lasting beauty with constantly evolving science – from the past, to the present, and into the future.’ In Singapore, this old-made-new Eudermine will retail at S$120. What a pretty piece of beauty history!

such exquisite beauty!
Hi Plue,
Such a retro-looking bottle, heh.
the retro beauty is what makes it stand out in this sea of modern minimalistic approaches :P
Hi Plue,
I agree. I guess that’s why Benefit and Soap & Glory sell well? ;)
I agree with Plue – the original retro bottle is way cool and elegant! It reminds me a bit of Penhaligon’s Bluebell pefume bottle. What do you think? :)
Hey Milktea,
Come to think of it, yes!
