Vintage Mary Quant Makeup

Vintage Mary Quant Makeup - Crayons, Pencils, Powde Eyeshadows and Brushes

A gentleman recently contacted me with photos of vintage Mary Quant makeup that he has put up for sale.

I do not receive anything from the proceeds but I thought you might enjoy the photos of these items which originate from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Vintage Mary Quant Crayons

In the yellow daisy tin are 10 colourful Mary Quant Crayons in almost-pristine condition.

Apparently, a set of these hard-to-find crayons has been bought by the Museum of London. I don’t think collectors would use them but the seller tells me that these items have been stored in a cool, dark box for the last 40-50 years.

For more photos, do visit the eBay auction link here.

To learn more about cosmetics from the same era as Mary Quant (Biba, for instance), do watch Lisa Eldrige’s lovely video on vintage makeup.

I ♥ makeup memory lane!

Cool. Mary Quant disappeared here, but still alive and well in Japan. The skincare line is poplar.

      Hi Fuuka,

I believe it’s still available in the UK too. I don’t think I’ve ever tried the brand’s cosmetics but would love to one day!

Ooh I was looking for Mary Quant make up and chanced upon your website! They used to have counters here in SG when I was still in secondary school, uhm which is about 10 over years back but then it all soon closed down. Their make up products were really good and now I’m looking to see if they’re still around and apparently they’re quite big in Japan! The only way to order is through their UK website.

      Hi Qiu Xian,

I haven’t tried ordering through the UK website but it might be something to explore. :) Yes, the MQ mook that I have is fascinating – lots of MQ love in Japan!

My parents gave me 2 sets for Christmas when I was in high school. Best present ever! I kept them for many years even though I rarely used them when I got older. Love to see them pictured here.
