Mini Haul from Bangkok

I returned from my second-last trip to Bangkokwith these items. Considerably restrained, no? ;)

Among the things I had purchased, Gino McCray Eyeshadow in 03 Deep Sky Blue made the deepest impression on me. It is a teal that beats all other teals flat. It may look somewhat ordinary in the pan but once swiped, wow – it flashes a stunning green that almost looks foiled.

This intense teal with reflective emerald tones is certainly on par with MAC’s iconic Parrot eyeshadow!

When I saw the beautiful baked goodness of Laura Mercier Colour Shimmer Bloc in Orchid Mosaic, I was taken by its velvety texture and cool tones. The lighter shades are so pretty – they remind me of the different hues one sees in the gossamer strands of candy floss.

Although Red Earth is available in Singapore, Red Earth Illusion Lights Beauty Pro Eyeshadow in Green Paradise was on sale at Central Chidlom, the departmental store from which I’d bought it. On top of that, the usual 5% discount that is offered to tourists at most Bangkok departmental stores was applicable on the brand.

This eyeshadow in the ‘brilliant pearl’ formula isn’t an exceptional shadow, honestly. However, its muted spring green shade makes it an easy wear-and-go lid colour.

I also bought the Suqqu Eyelash Curler, which cups the lashes on my Asian eyes well, creating a lovely curl; as well as Suqqu Eye Lucent EX01, a pigment a friend describes as crushed rainbows (needless to say, I succumbed immediately).

These are simply morsels in the beauty buffet that Bangkok offers. For more information on beauty delectables available in the Thai capital, look out for my Makeup Shopping in Bangkok series! ;)

    Hi smilecusiluvu,

    It is! :)

    Hi Lin,

It was around S$35, iirc, after a 10% discount. I will need to check my receipts from way back. I’ll try to verify this in my Bangkok Makeup post.

I took a closer look at the Suqqu and realised that it has a shallow curve. I don’t have my Shiseido with me at the moment but compared to the MAC and Shu curlers (similar to the Shiseido), the Suqqu is not as curved.

Oh and what I like is that it grabs all the lashes, so I think its span is wider than that of the Shiseido. I’ll need to do a proper comparison!

Hmm, a bit exp but been seeing lots of raves on this so maybe worth investing.

Ok, thanks. will ask my friend to get it then.

The 10% off is at Central or Isetan?

    Hi Lin,

I bought mine at Central. The discount may be offered at Isetan as well.

I hope your friend manages to get your Suqqu at 10% (or more) off when she’s there! :)
