Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows in Singapore!

I was able to collect my Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette today, thanks to Sephora’s early release for those who had attended the Eric Jimenez Master Class and reserved it. Just look at the whimsical teaware images, an allusion to the crazy tea-party that Alice attends in the book.

Two pretty Sephora Ion Orchard beauty advisors pronounced that I was the first to receive this gorgeous palette here. This photo was taken on the spot at the Sephora counters. Yes, I’m makeup-mad! ;)

Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?

With smiles worthy of the Cheshire Cat, the staff prompted me to open it. Amidst the ooh-ing and aah-ing, they talked about the palette and its exclusivity. Here’s all the info you need to know about UD’s AiW BoS’s release in Singapore:

  • Only 400 pieces of this much-coveted palette remain worldwide and they’re all here! ETA: Apparently, only 240 pieces came in.
  • The waiting list is long (the Sephora BAs flashed the list at me, remarking wistfully that I was very lucky to get hold of one).
  • Each customer is only allowed one piece. Even the Sephora BAs have to pay full price for the palette, should they want it. The palettes are now prominently displayed on the shelves though – not kept in the back – so it should be easy to snag another piece.
  • The palette is priced at S$88 here.
  • If you attended the Urban Decay Master Class, you receive reservation priority. The palette wasn’t available during the Friday class I attended. However, if you weren’t able to reserve it during this class or the Saturday one, call Sephora; the store will happily accommodate you.
  • You will receive a call from Sephora informing you of its arrival. Make payment within three days to receive your item.
  • The palette is officially available at Sephora on Friday, 26 February 2010.
  • You may call the store to request an early collection but they may or may not release it for sale before Friday.
  • The numbers to call are +65 6509 8255 (Sephora Ion Orchard) and +65 6836 5622 (Sephora Ngee Ann City).

This beautifully-designed palette contains:

  • Miniature versions of 24/7 Eye Pencils in Zero and Flipside
  • A miniature version of Eyeshadow Primer Potion
  • 16 Urban Decay eyeshadows renamed for this special edition product (sans one, which retains its name – Mushroom)

Sorry, you’re much too big. Simply impassible. Click to enlarge!

From left to right, top row to bottom row, they are:

  • Underland (Flash)
  • Alice (Painkiller)
  • Oraculum (Baked)
  • Queen (Last Call)
  • Chessur (Chopper)
  • White Rabbit (Polyester Bride)
  • Wonderland (Maui Wowie)
  • Curiouser (Grifter)
  • Muchness (X)
  • Mushroom (Mushroom)
  • Midnight Tea Party (Midnight Cowboy Rides Again)
  • Vorpal (S&M)
  • Absolem (Homegrown)
  • Drink Me, Eat Me (Sin)
  • Mad Hatter (Twice Baked)
  • Jabberwocky (Oil Slick)

I’ve since realised that I do own some of the shadows but the lovely pop-up/pop-out illustrations and the Wonderland motifs that adorn the box are so adorable that it does not matter (not to mention the fact that this is true value for money, thanks to the included minis).

Good luck! I hope this rabbit hole leads you to Alice and many beautiful adventures in makeup wonderland!

Darn, I was thinking of purchasing another as a wedding gift for a friend too …

  • Ruiling says:

Just went to get mine but havent gotten a chance to drool over it yet!! heehee… =D
Look forward to doing that tonight! woot!!

  • Lilian says:

ugh I’m trying hard to resist the hype..still can’t decide if I need it. I have so much makeup already :(

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Lilian,

In a bid to push you over the edge – the palette comes with two mini 24/7 pencils and a small UDPP, not to mention SIXTEEN shades! ;)

However, if you already have the minis and/or the shades inside, you can safely skip it. :)

  • Luna says:

wow.. I didn’t realise just how Limited this is.. The display at the Sephora I went to was still pretty well-stocked and I didn’t see any mad rush from other shoppers.. lol..

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Luna,

That’s actually wonderful to hear! I might go down tomorrow to get a piece for a friend…not sure if the shelves would be wiped out by then though, hehe!

Just got home from the Sephora with the palette and I can’t stop squeeing in delight. It’s such a gorgeous palatte. I can’t wait to try it out.

Also couldn’t stop myself from buying Shroom e/s from MAC while I was there. That’s for bringing along when I travel though, because I don’t think I’m going to be able to take the Alice in Wonderland and risk airport security.

By the way, when I was the Sephora, the sales assistant asked me if I wanted to buy a second one, so it doesn’t seem that they wouldn’t stop you from buying 2 if you really wanted it.

Oh man, I’m gonna be so broke. I just got an SMS that Metro’s having a 20% sale fri/sat, so that means more temptation to go makeup hauling!

    • makeupmag says:

Oh Xandrabelle, it’s so pretty, right?! You’re right though – it’s not the best makeup item for air travel.

I’m glad you bought it and the wonderfully useful Shroom. Thanks for the heads-up re: being able to buy more than one. I might get another one for a friend. :)

Re: the Metro sale – better to spend at a sale than to buy the items at full price. ;)

  • Shermaine says:

THANK YOU SO MUCH MAG!! I reserved mine last week after reading this entry and I got mine today! I’m soooo excited to try it out :)

  • jennifer says:

so tempted to get this, but not sure if I ABSOLUTELY wanna get it. So is it necessary to reserve it or can I just pop by the store and ask for it after it’s been released?

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Jennifer,

I think it is available at both Sephoras now. :) You could always call to reserve the palette, just to be sure that you’ll get it. The Friday and Saturday crowds have been known to snap up UD palettes quickly, causing them to be out of stock in a flash.

  • dramamanow says:

Mag, you mentioned only 240 of the palettes arrived in Singapore. Are the others coming, do you know?

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Dramamanow,

I believe they’re sold out. I don’t know if they’re bringing in more. Apparently, Sephora SG ordered 600 but less than that number came in.

  • Cherie says:

I would like to know how I can get my hands on one now, they seem to be all out of stock =(

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Cherie,

Your best bet is eBay. You could also call Sephora to check if the palette will be restocked. Good luck!
