EOTD | Traipsing Makeup Wonderland with Urban Decay

I’ve been favouring smokes so much that I’ve neglected colours for a long time. Ah, but the alluring range of brights in Urban Decay’s Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows worked its magic on me and I finally embarked on colour play after a long hiatus!

In all the looks, I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion as a base, as well as the 24/7 Glide On Pencils to line (and sometimes as a base). Brows were K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner and lashes were K-Palette Real Lasting Volume Mascara.

My eye area isn’t as smooth/firm as it used to be and it didn’t help that my UDPP was dry (decanting time!), so please excuse the touch of scaliness. These are raw pics – I don’t have the habit of Photoshopping – and wysiwyg. ;)

This look is for pretty J., a reader who’d asked about Muchness (X). I used Oraculum (Baked) on the lid, Muchness in the socket and White Rabbit (Polyester Bride) to highlight and Mad Hatter (Twice Baked) to line. The waterline is a mix of Oraculum and Muchness. I believe there’s a bit of Drink Me, Eat Me (Sin) to tone down the white. I’m also fairly certain I threw in a bit of Chessur (Chopper) somewhere for colour dimension but it was too sparkly for my liking.

A variation of this look would be to use Queen (Last Call) instead of Mad Hatter for a lovely sunset eye.

This is a look that would be familiar to those of you who’ve been following me from way before. ;) I used to love this blue-green combination a lot. Here, I used Alice (Painkiller) on the lid over Flipside 24/7 pencil for it to show up brilliantly, Absolem (Homegrown) in the outer socket and Muchness in the inner socket blended with White Rabbit  to diffuse the orange tones and to get a semblance of gold. I lined simply with Jabberwocky (Oil Slick) over Zero 24/7 pencil and waterlined with a mix of Alice and Absolem over Flipside.

This is my favourite look of the three. I love how purple pairs beautifully with green. Here, I used Flipside as a lid base for Underworld (Flash) so that the colour pops, Curiouser (Grifter) in the socket, White Rabbit to highlight, Jabberwocky+Zero on the upper lash line and Absolem over Flipside on the waterline. This eye required the least blending, thanks to the complementary purples (a bit of buffing is required to even out the glitter bits in Grifter though).

These looks are easy-peasy and I hope you try them too. The blendability of the shadows + the versatility  of the palette = endless colour possibilities. Have fun exploring makeup wonderland!
