This month’s issue of Her World magazine (S$6) comes with a full-sized bottle of Maybelline Hydra Boost Instant Relief Hydrating Dew, a facial mist worth S$12.90. Made in China, the spray has Imperata seed essence, which I assume helps it give an astringent effect. While this freebie is exclusive to MPH, the drugstore brand’s Hydra Boost Super Charged Essence worth S$18.90 was also given away with the mag at Kinokuniya (I believe all the free jars have since been redeemed).
Not to be confused with Neutrogena Hydro Boost, Hydra Boost is Maybelline’s new range of moisturising products. Unfortunately, its name reminds me of the many-headed mythical monster; thanks to recent cinematic revisits of Greek mythology (Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Clash of the Titans). :P
This thick issue of Her World, which introduces a revamped herworld.com, also includes:
- A sample cake of Kosé Sekkisei (雪肌精) Supreme Powder Foundation
- Two sample sachets of Kosé Sekkisei Supreme Makeup Base (this new base makeup range from this popular skincare line also includes a loose powder)
- A sample sachet (15 ml) of Asience Shine Therapy Shampoo
- A sample sachet (15 ml) of Asience Shine Therapy Conditioner
- A sample sachet of Vichy Bi-White Reveal Double-Corrective Whitening Cream with SPF 20 PA+++
- A sample sachet of Lancôme UV Expert GN-Shield (an upgraded version of its popular sunscreen)
Of all the freebies, I am most excited about the Lancôme sunscreen. Not only does this new version promise heightened sun-shielding efficacy, I’ve also tried the original and really like it. L’Oréal UV Perfect is similar to it – they are under the same parent brand – but the Lancôme is superior in texture. ;)
that is a lot of free gifts for a magazine!
Hi Choo,
I agree! I was quite surprised at the number of sachets I found inside the mag. I didn’t look carefully though; who knows, there might be more! ;)
Hi makeupmag,
Chanced upon your blog yesterday on this GWP for April’s issue. I managed to buy mine from MPH. Thanks for sharing! :)
Hi there,
You’re welcome! :)
I can’t subscribe because it doesn’t recognise my postcode.. Is that because I live in Australia?
Hi Lesley,
I’m not sure. Perhaps you could email them to ask?
