A Gift! – L’Oréal UV Perfect Advanced Fluid Perfector (Anti-Dullness)

My mummy recently gave me this sunscreen as she’d received it free as part of a L’Oréal loyalty program. I was delighted because I’d just finished a tube!

With a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 50 PA+++, UV Perfect is one of the more comprehensive sunscreens available in the beauty market. This anti-dullness version of L’Oréal’s famous sunscreen not only has a subtle lavender cast to impart radiance, it also promises to protect against brown spots, skin darkening and premature skin-ageing. How perfect…and how apt the name is.

I love it as a moisturising makeup base and appreciate its advanced UVA/UVB UV protection, thanks to Mexoryl SX and Mexoryl XL, the well-known and effective chemical sun-filter/UV absorbing ingredients patented by L’Oréal. However, this might not be the best sunscreen for people who have oily skin – it does  have a greasy feel. To combat this, I usually blot my face with a single ply of tissue after applying my base makeup over it.

Although it is available in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, it is not easily found in the USA, despite Mexoryl having been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) a few years back.

Hey Mag! I got this one off strawberrynet and have been using it for months now and really like it. On a lazy day, I only use this with a powder and concealer and it makes my skin look pretty good. I had no trouble using it even in summer though it can be slightly sticky for a minute or so.

    Hi Marta!

I used to love the entire range. They are a touch too sticky, I’ll admit, so I’ve strayed. ;) The new(ish) anti-sebum, matte (not really, imo) one is the least sticky, though. It’s definitely worth a go. :)

Have to check the new one out then :)
