Topshop Make Up in Singapore

Topshop Make Up has finally arrived in Singapore! Our little island is apparently one of the very few countries that carry the beauty line of this immensely popular fashion brand (I only know of the UK and USA having it).

A decent inaugural range of eye, lip, cheek, skin and nail products, Topshop Make Up is mostly, if not entirely, made in Italy. The dots and stripes, together with the handwriting font, give the packaging a cool, whimsical feel. To my delight, the prices are very reasonable and there are some gems to be found in the collection.

There are a few disappointments too, unfortunately – despite looking pretty and complementary, the eyeshadow duos are somewhat chalky and not terribly pigmented. Fortunately, they will work all right over the crayons and kohls.

Although there are no powder blushes (yet?), the current crop of cream ones are lovely! They are smooth (albeit a little silicone-y to the touch) and beautifully pigmented. I love the range of shades and how wonderfully they blend.

I intended to haul but a sweet friend of mine bought this lot for me as a belated birthday present – she grabbed the bunch from me after I’d chosen what I wanted and sped off to pay for them! :D

She purchased:

  • Eye Trio in Moon Dust
  • Nails in Gypsy Night
  • Blush in Crushed Berry and Blush in Pinch
  • Brighten in Moonlight

Moon Dust is a baked shadow trio of pink, grey and silver that can be used wet or dry (the colours have layering potential – I can see them over other shadows for sparkly oomph). I love that the sparkles catch the light very prettily.

Gypsy Night is a gorgeous black polish shot through with reflective copper foil flakes and multi-coloured glitter. It is incredibly complex and beautiful!

Crushed Berry and Pinch are useful additions to my blush stash; they would be perfect under my powder blushes. The former is a plum berry, while the latter is a rose pink with just a teensy hint of warmth.

Brighten in Moonlight is an easy-to-use undereye brightener and concealer pen. I’m looking forward to using it; the shade seems right and the texture, light.

Thank you so much, Coco! ♥

Topshop’s foray into cosmetics is a success in my books. Mostly well-made (in Italy, no less) and very affordable (on top of the great prices, Fashion Fast Forward card members receive a 10% discount all-year round), this line will find success in Singapore, I’m certain. The Topshop Make Up accessories haven’t made their way here but I’m looking forward to them.
