Makeup Mail | Hard Candy Living Doll and Rock & Republic Saturate

August 20, 2010

I recently received a surprise in the mail from Jeanie of Makeup Merriment. To my delight, the package contained Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush in 125 Candy Doll and Rock & Republic Eye Colour in Saturate, encased in a pretty Hard Candy zippered pouch.

I’ve known Jeanie since our days at Emakemeup and we’ve become good friends even though we’re continents apart. She’s a real makeup connoisseur and has a terrific stash, so do check out her lovely blog.

Living Doll is a beautiful cool-toned pink marbleised with subtle gold veining. At first I thought it looked like MAC Mineralize Blush in Pleasantry but it has bluer undertones than the latter. It is exactly the type of blush I would’ve picked for myself!

Saturate is a satiny Prussian blue that will be beautiful with many of my favourite shades (I’m already picturing it with my smokes). The classy R&R packaging reminds me of the hard cases expensive jewellery/watches sometimes come in. Both the box and the shadow case are quite heavy too, enhancing the touch of luxe.

I was quite taken with the little charm that is attached to the pretty pouch and appreciate how well-made the entire case is.

♥ THANK YOU so much, Jeanie, for your very thoughtful present and your gift of friendship! ♥

I love the Hard Candy blush. I was so pleasantly surprised by it. I’m glad you have it, it’s just your style. And there’s nothing quite like R&R eyeshadows – I love them and I know you’ll ROCK this one!

      Hi Sara,

They’ve been discontinued, so they sometimes go for less on Haute Look. ;)
