I was at Sephora a few days back and spotted Gucci Guilty. According to the brand, the scent is ‘a warm yet striking oriental floral with hedonism at its heart’. I like that last bit of the description!
This fragrance, which currently only comes in the eau de toilette form, contains:
- Top notes of mandarin and pink pepper
- Middle notes of lilac and geranium with a hint of peach
- Base notes of patchouli and amber
Gucci fans will clobber me for saying this but from far, the box made me think of the Batman insignia. :P The striking bottle looks like an oversized Gucci clasp/buckle though, with the little window framed by the interlocking ‘G’s allowing a peek at the fragrance inside. Quite a neat design but a fingerprint magnet with its mirror finish, unfortunately.
Here’s the director’s cut of the Gucci Guilty video. Directed by Frank Miller, who created the film noir graphic novel series Sin City and also directed the movie based on the series, the video stars Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans.
From now till 14 October 2010, every purchase of the 75 ml bottle of Gucci Guilty (S$149) comes with a tube of body lotion (50 ml), as well as a sleek (filled) portable spray vial, in the same scent. Now Smell This and The Scented Salamander have in-depth reviews of this fragrance.
