Exclusively created for the beauty store to celebrate Karl Lagerfeld’s title of Designer of the Year, Karl Lagerfeld for Sephora is a limited edition capsule collection available only at Sephora stores in Europe and in Singapore.
Choice beauty items form the collection and like their inspiration, they possess wit and class. I do find the Lagerfeld-centric theme a touch disconcerting; I know he has a larger-than-life presence in the fashion scene but this egoistic focus is a bit much for me!
The affection and respect fashionistas have for this sartorial icon will no doubt help the collection sell out in a flash, though.
The centerpiece of this collection accented in black and gold, the Karl Lagerfeld for Sephora Snow Globe (S$45) has golden flakes swirling around a silhouette of the designer.
Inscribed at its base is the French quote: “Mon grand luxe est de n’avoir à me justifier auprès de personne.” Roughly translated, it means: “My great luxury is not having to justify myself to anyone.” Well-said and befitting of the master of wit.
A 5-colour Eyeshadow Palette (S$65) with pans in the shape of Lagerfeld’s silhouette, the palette bears the quote: “La mode n’est ni morale, ni amorale, elle est faite pour remonter le moral.” Translated, it means: “Fashion is neither moral nor amoral but is made to boost morale.”
The bottles of the nail lacquer duo also bear the the same quote as that on the eyeshadow palette and makeup bag.
In addition, the collection includes the Karleidoscope fragrance which was released last month in Europe.
A cute Karl Lagerfeld doll rounds off the collection (I never thought I’d use that adjective on the man himself!). I am amused that it has no nose and mouth. It looks rather benign, yes? Very unlike Kaiser Karl, who is known for his acerbic remarks. ;)
I think it’s awesome that this exclusive collection will be available on our little island; I wonder who made the executive decision and why. Unfortunately, only the snow globe and the eyeshadow palette will be sold at Sephora Singapore. According to the store, the collection will come in next week. Happy Sephora-stalking!

Hi Jamilla,
It’s interesting but I don’t think you need anything. ;)
hahaha, yeah the silhouettes still were quite a turn off, though the items look lovely :D
Hello Orqngefirefly,
I agree! I wonder how the shadows look like in real life.
uh huh totally narcissistic but i have to admit, the doll looks cute! haha.
Hi Fiona,
Exactly! ;)
Hi, just called up Sephora Sg and the SA said that the KL collection will only be in stores end Nov. That plus the fact that e full collection is not in, makes me wonder shd I order from sephora.fr. But there is a sephora delivery fee (within europe) of 18 euros! On the plus side, I can use vPost Europe for this… If u would like to get anything from Sephora.fr, I am more than happy to help u ‘CP’ and we share e shipping. Only for 1 of my fave Sg beauty bloggers. – effortgirl on twitter.
Hello Effortgirl,
Thank you so much for your offer; I really appreciate the gesture. :) I don’t want anything from the collection but look forward to your reviews on them! :) The collection is limited edition, so I think it’s worth getting, if you’re a fan. Happy shopping!
I was hoping the nail polish would be available in Singapore! I love the packaging!
Hi Su,
It’s stylish but I’m still thrown by the egocentricity. :P
