Created for the holiday season, this smokey eye palette comprises four complementary colours: a shimmery icy white, a velvety pewter, a matte black and a creamy glittery silver. It also comes with mini versions of The Body Shop Eye Definer in 01 Black and The Body Shop Eyeshadow Brush.
The box has illustrated instructions on the back, demonstrating how to use all the products in the set.
I recently test-drove a preview sample of this limited edition palette and was impressed by its performance.
Made in Thailand, the colours are quite pigmented and stay on for a fairly long time. The Thais seem to do dense and frosty shades well, as evidenced in the icy white shade. The pewter is a lovely smooth shade and together with the white, blends well. The black can be a touch skippy but layers adequately over the liner (a regular black pencil) and over the other shadows.
As much as I enjoy the pretty pewter, I have to admit that the glitter cream is the star of this palette. With minuscule multi-coloured sparkles, this little twinkly beauty is like my beloved Beauté de Kosé Eye Fantasist in WT050 Crystal Cream in pan form. Do note that it can be a touch emollient, so I’d advise you to layer it thinly or dab on just a smidgeon, to avoid caking.
You can apply it from lash to brow (too bling for me!) but I prefer it on the lid (over and under the powder shadows) or just in the centre of the mobile lid for sparkly interest and to open up the eyes.
There’s a brown counterpart to this palette that’s well worth a look if you prefer this hue.
These holiday makeup palettes retail at S$39.90. However, they are currently 20% off, thanks to The Body Shop’s post-Christmas discounts. ;)
