Review | Estée Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Teal Topaz for Spring 2012

Here’s Teal Topaz, a creamy teal with all the shine of a satin ribbon! Part of the Estée Lauder Spring 2012 Topaz Collection, this nail polish has depth of colour yet stays true to the lightness of the season of rebirth. A subdued teal bordering on turquoise, this unique green-blue hue has a slightly dusty edge that lends it a modern tone. I love how calming the colour is too.

I don’t have the application finesse of nail bloggers, so I can assuredly say the brush is practically fool-proof – I barely smudge the sides of my nails with it. The polish has high coverage too, allowing me to achieve opacity with just two casual coats.

I am particularly impressed with how easily and quickly it goes on. I barely have time to paint my nails, what with caring for the little one, yet this 2-coater look with my preview sample took me less than 10 minutes to achieve, thanks to its fast-drying feature and easy brush.

The photo above shows the actual shine of this varnish, before a topcoat. Isn’t it lovely? The glossy finish reminds me of shiny enamel. The polish was pristine for at least three days – no chipping at all – although I wonder if it’s because of the Poshe topcoat that I’d eventually applied.

Teal Topaz will retail at S$26, when the Topaz collection launches here in March 2012. I love the application and effect of this polish so much that I’m going to take a closer look at the Pure Color Nail Lacquer range when I next visit the EL counter. :)
