Following the success of the Pomegranate range, Crabtree & Evelyn has once again been inspired by a fruit – the avocado. Well known for its nutritive and moisturising properties, the creamy fruit is joined by two other ingredients to form a troika of green goodness. Including botanical extracts and Mediterranean herbs, the Avocado, Olive and Basil range promises to refresh the skin and keep it supple.
The centrepiece of this new collection is the nourishing Body Butter (S$60). Together with the brand’s ever-popular Hand Therapy (S$33), a Bath & Shower Gel (S$30) and a Body Lotion (S$35) will also be available in this scent.
I was able to try the bath wash, courtesy of the brand. It is ultra-moisturising but thankfully, doesn’t leave a slimy film on the skin post-shower. I have to admit that I don’t have a good idea of how the avocado fruit smells, so I can’t attest to the scent authenticity of this range but the fragrance in the shower gel is remarkably green – there’s a clear leafy note that will probably make it appealing to both men and women.
In conjunction with this new range, Crabtree & Evelyn has started ‘A Love So Beautiful’, a programme that enables underprivileged women to earn a fair wage with their traditional handiwork skills. The result of this is a hand-made pouch gift-with-purchase that also include two Avocado, Olive & Basil Hand Therapy hand creams.
Available since 15 February 2012, this limited-edition pouch is free with a minimum S$100 purchase of Avocado, Olive & Basil body care products.
